Doc fortunately survived serious wounds received on the road below Tiger on April 25, 1968. Mike Sprayberry received the MOH for going out that night to rescue Doc & the rest of his patrol. Their unit was on board for the first Combat Assault's into LZ Tiger."

This "unknown" was identified as Roger Schmidt (CE) by Guy Sparrow(CE)
Roger was later wounded in a shoot down during August 1968, four klicks west of LZ Barbara with Nick Johnson (AC) and Howard Burbank (P).
