Look who came to dinner - Rod Esterak!!! He was lost but now he is found thanks to Wayne Driver and Scotty Colligan. Rod, Scotty and Chuck Bell came to visit. Needless to say several cold drinks were consumed as we caught up 42 years with Rod. I do believe we might see him at future reunions.Â

The past two days I have had former WO-1 Paul Lund (A/227 July to October 1966, 1st Flight Platoon) here with me in Colorado Springs. It was quite a reunion! Even though we had both aged; he is almost 67 and I am 63, we knew the old facial lines and mannerisms were still there. We talked about all the years that had passed and some of what A/227 was like when he was there before the crash in AnKhe Pass on 10-9-66.
Thanks to TOM JOHNSON for recognizing Paul at VHPA Reunion in San Antonio and exchanging phone info and e-mail. Paul is still astounded that you knew him from the information on the web site. Thanks to Thom Jefferson for starting this “reach out†many years ago to me. Special and grateful thanks go to Howard for his being able to post our unit history, pictures, stories, etc.

Every time I visit Washington DC I stop by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. I first check on my copilot's plaque (Don McNeil May 1968)and then salute all of the names.
I also check on the memorial to the nurses. It is just a few yards away. You will remember them..they were the ones who rushed out of the Medevac tent to take care of our fallen brothers.
