The officer giving the award is Gen J.J.Tolson. From Jay Dirnberger: "I recognize the man giving Lee King his Air Medal as Major General John Tolson, 1st Cavalry Division Commander. I was one of his Aides de Camp at Fort Bragg, where he later was the Corps Commander of the 18th Airborne Corps."

To the right of Lee is Aaron Cobb who was the cook for A/227. The Warrent Officer on Lee's left is unknown.
